Line Boring And Welding Fabrication
Northern Ironworks recently had the opportunity to perform a line boring and welding fabrication repair for Glacier Lake Sand and Gravel. The project consisted of repairing a boom mount on a Komatsu Excavator that had been torn off the machine.
To perform this repair, the excavator mount needed to be welded back in place, reinforced, and then line bored. First, I had to find existing pin locations to determine the center location of the boom mounts. Next, the torn off mount was welded back in place ensuring 100% weld throughout. For the last step, both boom mounts were reinforced and line bored ensuring hole diameters were back to factory specifications.
